I have a 90 Dakota LE Extended cab. Will the gas tank from a 91 Dakota fit. I know I have to change the electrical plug for the fuel pump assembly

 

Welcome to DF. Going to move this to the first gen dakota section for ya.

 

I have not done this yes - but I believe it will, if!

1) Change the plug to match.

2) Carefully replumb all the lines.

3) If yours has the DRAIN line, which the 1991+ didn't, you can ignore that; that was to allow draining the tank with an external pump if the electric pump failed on a full tank.

I would replace the straps also.
