Just wanted to share some pictures of the 5.9 I been slowly working on.....
This coming week, I hope to get started on swapping my 3.9 for this 5.9!!

Hopefully start on it this week!
The engine, is all stock, other then the intake, carb, and dist.
I put a turned crank in it, 10-10
Used some aftermarket heads, which I believe are chinese castings, but finished in USA
Put cam brgs, timing chain, freeze plugs, etc. but kept stock cam. and pistons.
Hopefully it runs ok and does not smoke..... I just re-ringed....
Oil pressure was 70 with a 550rpm drill and 5-30 oil.

 

Was the block bored at all? If it was, you are going to want oversize pistons in there as well.

 

No, the motor had never been apart. I just cleaned up the pistons, light hone, and installed new rings.

 

Should be golden then.

 

I hope!! I would have liked to have it bored,..... a little more cam, and springs, but at some point, ya gotta stop spending! I already have about $2,000.00 in this engine.

 

Well, I finally got the engine pulled out of my truck.
Now to clean up, paint, and replace.
