Default What 5-speed bolts to a 5.2?

I have a 92 dakota 4x2 with the v8, the 5.2L L.A, with a 4 speed auto that's toast, I was wondering what manual transmission would bolt up to the L.A.

AX15 with a LA/Magnum bell housing; NV2500; NV3500; NV4500; several others with appropriate bell housings.

Factory for 1993 was NV3500.

The 92-93 with a 5.2 were automatics. 94 and up V8 all used NV3500 with a 5 spd.
Assuming you are keeping fuel injection, you will need a 5.2 flywheel.
Then you can use the NV3500 (preferred) or the AX-15 But keep in mind the AX-15 was designed for a V6
Also, you need a dakota trans. Rams had a different shifter location.
Last, NV2500 will not work with fuel injection.

BTW 92 should be a magnum, 91 was last year for LA 5.2 and 3.9

Why would the NV2500 not work with fuel injection? Worst case would be to hog out an opening for the crank sensor, right?

The flywheel, (87-91) is a smaller diameter then the magnum used. Your going to need the v8 magnum flywheel to trigger the crank sensor.
The larger flywheel will not fit inside the housing, not to mention the starter would be off......
