My neighbor has a gen 1 dakota 4x4 i believe v6 i can buy it cheap but i dont know whats wrong you can hear the starter spinning but the motor not doing a thing should i keep clear of it or somewhat easy fix

 

If you can wrench well enough to follow instructions and know enough to be able to search for answers, its a good rig to have. You might consider paying a mechanic to inspect it and diagnose the problem if the seller cannot tell you. Otherwise you are better off buying something you know will run well.

 

IF the starter is running, but the motor is not turning, might be as simple as replacing the starter. Might be as bad as a broken crankshaft..... Gonna have to take some stuff apart to see.
