can I swap a 99 dodge durango 4.7 with a 08 dodge 1500

Don't think so. Too much changed in the electronics. Would need to at least change the tone ring on the crankshaft.

Short answer - You can, but.

Long answer - You can, but you'll need to at least tear the motor apart to swap the tone rings.

Best answer - Better to get the proper 4.7 for your Durango.

Even better answer - Any particular reason why you ask in the 1st Generation Dakota forum, instead of the 1st Generation Durango Forum? Our 1st Gen Dakotas never saw a 4.7 from the factory.

99 durango would not have 4.7 yet. that didn't come out for another year. unless you have an early 2000 made in 99. me? I avoid the 4.7. looked at many nice looking durangos but having the 4.7 was the turnoff. I wound up with an 01 that has the 360.
