Addendum: Photos of the driver's side (not the side that blew!) after a dusting with some brake cleaner, before replacement.

And now the driver's side AFTER.

Yes, new springs, new hold downs.

Welp, it wasn't the wheel cylinder.

The flare I made? The tubing broke right there.

I remember I had to do it twice; I bet the tubing was not in the best of shape there.

But in any case, I can't find my flaring tool!

*grumps*

So need a new one.

I couldn't find mine either when I needed it. Bought a new one. Went to put it up while I got some tubing ready and guess what was in the drawer? My old one. Now I have two, one still in the packaging.

Isn't that the way it normally is?

That's why I've got two compression testers for engine cylinders. I had to get a car back to the owner and was out of time. Bought a compression tester and after checking, I looked around for a place to store it. A shelf just right. The box wouldn't go in. The other tester was in there in ITS box.

There was JUST enough to replace the end on the new one that broke.

Redid the one that broke (the old line I hadn't replaced on 4 July weekend).

Got it bolted together, but it's getting dark enough that I wasn't able to bleed them tonight.

Had to order two new tires; one picked a screw up in a previous plug, and nobody will patch an old plug. (Tire is almost on the tread wear bars ANYWAY; I was going to replace them next month. C'est la vie.)
