Question 4x4 rigged up as 2x4

When I bought my 1993 Dodge Dakota Le 4x4 the previous owner informed me that the transfer case was bad but still ran because his mechanic took the front drive shaft off.. I finally got the transfer case replaced but here is my question can I just put the front drive shaft back on or is there more steps to it?? I have a book for this truck but it doesn't say and because this is my very first 4x4 I don't want to make the mistake of messing it up.

Thanks in advance !

Yep, just put the driveshaft back in, and you are good to go.

Awesome sauce! Now I've got to wait till it is back from the shop..( My rebuilt transmission torque converter valve and solenoid took a dump. I caught it in time before any real damage was done to the tranny. yay for small favors!)
