A challenge to address with the LA360 or 5.9 magnum, is keeping the proper engine balance when adapting it to a different transmission.

Also what do I do for oil pan? I have a magnum oil pan for a dakota willl this work for my la engine

I don't think so; I believe the mains are a different size.

But you can check to see if the front and rear are the same or not.

If I remember correctly, the 273,318,340 use the same oil pan and the 360 la and the magnums use the same pan.

The torque converter needs the proper weight added for balance.
