I have a 1995, 5.2L basic, 2WD pickup. A while back I found that the previous owner removed the ABS warning light relay. Once I put a new relay in, the ABS light is constantly lit. I checked the front wheel speed sensors, replaced the speed sensor on the differential, the proportioning valve, master cylinder, and checked all the electrical connections. No luck.
The manual says I can disconnect the datalink wires from the diagnostic connector, momentarily ground the diagnostic connector, and count the number of times the ABS light flashes to get a fault code. I can’t find the data link connector. I think I know where the diagnostic connector is (picture attached). It may be the six pin connector near the firewall on the passenger side engine compartment. The data link module is supposed the be under the dash, near the passenger kick panel/cowl. I can’t find it.
Anyone have an idea how to generate the ABS fault codes on a 1995? Diagnostic Connector?
I still can’t identify the ABS diagnostic connector. It is supposed to be under the dash on the passenger side. I tried grounding all the pins on the DLC but no fflash codes were generated. The manual says to ground the black wire with a white tracer on the ABS diagnostic connector.
I have the original Chrysler service manual. It does have a picture of where it should be, but I find nothing like it anywhere near the passenger side kick plate. I removed kick plate and lowered trim that includes the glove box. I looked everywhere under the dash. I’ve rebuilt the heater box twice (much better job the second time), so I’m pretty familiar with that area.
It is possible that the previous owner couldn’t get the ABS to work and ripped out some of the electrical. I know he removed the ABS light relay so he wouldn’t have to see the warning light. BeforeI bought it, the truck had the front driver’s side fender replaced after an accident. Maybe he never got the ABS working again after the accident.
What would really help is if someone with a 95 could send me a picture of their ABS diagnostic connector, but it’s asking a lot to remove the kick panel and send a picture.
Our local Pick and Pull has a 94. Maybe I’ll go take a look at it.
I see a dump valve, and a motor/controller in the pics in the first post. I also see what appears to be the abs module right next to the motor/controller. Looks a lot like 4wal to me, which would explain why the diagnostic link for rwal ain't there.

It is 4WAL judging from the pix. Backs are below the master, fronts are against the fender.
