1993 Dodge Dakota LE, 5.2L Magnum, Auto Trans, RWD, 181,000 miles, original owner

I'm going to be changing out the rear leaf spring bushings eventually. Mine are pretty crusty and flaking out. No urgency. Not sure how soon I'll get to it. But I'm curious if I can swap out the bushings without removing the leaf spring from the truck. The shackle will have to come off but the rest???

I will say that it is massively more comfortable to remove the bed than to work around it. Might sound like a big deal, but with a couple of friends and some blocks it's nothing. Remove the taillights, tailgate(just for ease of transporting the bed), disconnect the filler neck and run out 6 or 8 bolts (i forget) with a long extension.

With the bed off, the leafs can be done one hanger at a time.

Do you have to deal with rust where you are?
