I never got the step side thing. that was a real big deal back in the 80's for some reason I never got.
I suppose if I worked out of my truck and regularly had stuff in the middle of the bed up against the cab it makes sense but.......

There is a couple links in the FAQ page Special Edition Dakotas section near the bottom.
You may have to copy links on the scrolled down part of the page and remove the part before http and copy the part after into the Wayback Machine to find old saved versions of the pages linked at those two links.. Actually it looks like the two links go to wayback machine saved versions of themselves.

OH MY GOD... Those are so rare! How did you get it? My best advice is to get it meticulously detailed, measure the depth of the paint before going at it with any type of clay bar or polish to determine how many steps to take it and BE CAREFUL. Try to get it into an auction. I wonder if a dealership might buy it as a show piece. There were a very limited number of these made, and I think they were only available on special order, so something like 300 were made. Does it have a little placard thingy with a number on the passenger side or middle of the dash? If you have a place to keep it and hoard it away, it will appreciate in value more than the S&P 500. Classic car collecting is an alternative investment strategy that is often not spoken of in the "finance" world (but honestly, cool cars sitting around not being driven is a depressing thought) As for a solid cash number of what it's worth I am not sure. Everyone says "It's worth what someone's willing to pay for it". My best guess would be 55k but I'm just an internet person and not an expert in anything to do with cars. There's gotta be an auction website where you can find the perfect buyer.
