Default Getting live sensor data from an 89 Dakota on my phone

Does anyone know what ODB1 scan tools work with the ODB 1 Dakotas? I'd like to pipe some live sensor data to a scan gauge but I'm not sure what I need.

Not sure you can even do that..... Doesn't the scan gauge won't input from an OBDII port??

There used to be a bunch of free apps for OBDI then you had to buy a plug to connect to the OBDI plug that transmitted to your phone with the app on it. I tried looking IDK much and I don't even own a smart phone. There are code readers you can buy that are supposed to read OBDI. Don't count on much live data and what you can see you cannot adjust AFAIK.

I know GM had some bi-directional OBDI stuff..... of course, you needed to have the GM tool to play with various systems....... Computer hardware/software has come a LONG way since then though...... but, not many support OBDI any more. The last one rolled off the assembly line back in 95.......

I can read my codes on my 93 OBD1 without a scanner. What years could be read without a scanner?

I always assumed you could not get live data from an OBD1. Am I wrong?

IDK what exactly there is right now but there is some live data in the MT2500 when the engine is running. I know it shows rpm's, indicates what the IAC is doing I think and a few other things. AFAIK there is no adjustment. It does run tests and you can hear it turning things on and off in the motor. Could be some of the app's created for the plugs I mentioned may allow some adjusting. IDK,

I'd like to get fuel trim and misfire data. There are some good things about computers.

When OBD2s started out they'd capture a few dozen live data points. Today's automobiles capture hundreds. Scares the hell out of me. More crap to to break. And I'm not interested in the computer telling me when to vacuum the carpet.
