And you should probably slap your friend for not bringing all the parts he picked up from you back when the trans was finished. Just sayin'...

Curiosity question: Are we calling my A518 Auto Trans in my 1993 Dakota LE, RWD, 5.2L a 46RH now or are there differences albeit subtle? I'm assuming those two "models" are 100% identical and the only reason why A518 was changed to 46RH was due to the OBD2 era 46RE tranny changes??? But then why wouldn't they call it an A518E??

GM does the same thing. Change the name of something, even though it is the EXACT same part......

They seem to think that "46R?" is 'more descriptive' than "A518".... and technically, I suppose it is. Like GM changing 700R4, to 4L60.....
