Ok, put the relay back in, put your finger on the relay, have someone else turn the key on. Do you feel the relay click?

Yes, the fuel pump relay clicks when the key is turned onto the run position.

Next step would be to verify continuity of the wire between the PDC, and the pump.

Thanks. Kinda had that feeling. I believe it runs in a harness from the PDC down the left frame rail on to the fuel pump, correct?

I used to have a link to Geno's Garage and they had all the TSB's for our trucks posted. One of them was for a fuel pump issue. That site no longer exists. The old links I have do not contain the fuel pump issue when I looked in the wayback machine.
OK what I remember is the solution was to run a new power wire back to the fuel pump and remove the OE one and put in the new one. IDK which wire is which or where to get power for the new wire. It is possible it called for more than one new wire to be run.

Thanks for the thought. I plan to check the existing fuel pump power feed wire for continuity after the rains stop here. If necessary, I will run a new power feed wire over to the fuel pump if the existing wire fails the continuity test.

I'll reply back with what I find...

Unhappy

I finally got some time to tinker with the Dakota today and still can't get power to the fuel pump. I checked for power going through the Dark Green/Black wire in the harness that runs down the left side of the frame and on to the fuel pump (see attached photo of the connector/harness that runs to the fuel pump). The harness appears to come from inside the truck, through the firewall and plugs into the harness going to the fuel pump. What other logical places should I be checking tor that wire that powers the fuel pump?

Just as an FYI, I can inject 12 volt power directly to the fuel pump and it will run, so the fuel pump is seems good. Once the pump primes, the truck will start and run until it runs out of fuel pressure.

One of the wires will go to the diagnostic connector inside the truck. Do you have the service manual for your truck? That should show where the wires go, and thru what connectors.

I've downloaded the service manual, but I'm not the best at reading/diagnosing wiring schematics. Any other thoughts regarding this issue?
