1992 Dakota tranny swap\
Can you tell me what manual transmission I could use in place of my automatic with overdrive?
I would like a manual transmission as its easier for me to repair a manual.
Any help you could give me is greatly appreciated.
PS its a 2wd 3.9L LE extended cab. From what Ive found the driveshaft from tranny to carrier bearing (front) must be replaced.
Any info on anyone parting out a 1992 Dakota with manual tranny would be greatly appreciated.

2wd or 4 wd? You need a transmission from the same... I "think" the best option would be to find a 92-96 dakota with a 5spd. and swap out what you need, which will be the pedal assy. clutch hyd. etc. You will need a flywheel so in your case it would need to be the same engine ie: v6 or v8. Not sure on driveshaft....
Its 2wd, and your right about the year and model, unfortunately theres nothing around Dallas I could find. I'm looking on ebay but some there are very proud of their prices.
I appreciate any info.
