Default What's the name of this part? (rear shock mount)

Hi!

On my 1995 dakota 5.2 4wd I need to replace this part (in the red circle) but I can't find the exact name of this.

anyone know where I can get it or if not how I can fix my rear shock?

The passager side is broken. For now I just weld the braket to the frame but I can't tow anything with that!

There is a factory service manual for the 95 in the FAQ sextion. You can download it. with a short glance so don't take my word in Chapter 13 the last section seems to indicate this is the "Drive Shaft Center Bearing Cross Member" but that may not be it the diagram is very narrow.

Can't be the center support bearing, it's behind the axle.

Maybe it's a 6-wheel drive.

OK they show a picture of it without label in chapter 13 page 21. In chapter 3 page 5 & 6 show the mount for the shock you are talking about and the end of that cross member but again no label on it. Try asking a dealer what the name for that cross member with the shock mount is.

More searching... There is a 94-96 parts manual in the FAQ too. I'm no good searching them in PDF form. I used a couple part numbers and the name is probably "upper rear cross member/shock mount" Or "Upper shock crossmember"

I have seen several kits that supply a pipe and clips to install your own if you can weld in a fix. Or you can try some junk yards to see what it would cost you to get them to ship one to you.
OP has only posted once so he may have given up or solved the problem.

I think you're right 94. He punted. All your work shot to hell. You don't mind doing the work if you think you're helping someone. But it's frustrating when they don't respond. For the record, I appreciate all your input.
