I finished replacing my Cam and Crank Pos Sensors with better quality parts, and disconnected the neg bat post to reset the codes because the truck would still not start. (Thought it might be due to a failsafe for the codes I had).

Someone suggested it could be an ignition issue. I get plenty of crank, then just a click a time or two, then more crank, etc., when trying to start the truck. I seem to be hearing a whirring noise at the end of the crank, but I could just be thinking too much. And I've never had to do ignition work in any of my vehicles, so I don't really know what to look for. Assuming the starter is good (O'Reilly tested it more than once recently and it was good), what should I look for next? I'm getting no codes right now, but I did just reset them.

I'm going to play with trying to start it with the steering wheel in different vertical positions and see if anything happens.

Thanks in advance!

Are you getting spark? Does the fuel pump prime? Will it fire on starting fluid??

I bought an in-line spark tester and tested the coil pack. I'm getting spark. The truck starts with starter fluid and dies, but I hear the fuel pump working in the accessory position. I checked the FP relay and dash fuse, all were good.
I replaced the fuel filter earlier this year.
Should I start testing each plug? Plugs and plug wires are all new.
Checked my grounds and they're all good.
So at this point I'm looking at a fuel system failure but not sure where.
Thanks for the help.

I'd like to test fuel pressure but I don't even think that's possible without the thing running.

Did I miss where you checked fuel pressure?

I ain't checked fuel pressure. Can it be checked without the thing running? I hear the fuel pump but it may be to the trained ear a little higher pitch than it should be.

I seem to remember my mechanic checking it at the fuel rail and it was good then, but it would be a good thing to investigate again because now the thing ain't starting at all.

Watch this vid. In fact, watch 2 or 3 on how to test your fuel pressure. They're all over You Tube.

Yes, you can check for priming pressure without starting the vehicle. See my previous post. You can also check for vacuum at the fuel pressure regulator and for leaks. The vid will show it.

I went and got a fuel pressure test kit but the results are almost unbelievable. After hooking it up and turning the key to the ON position (and cranking it a few times) the needle never even budged from 0psi. I removed the guage and held in the fuel rail schrader valve while cranking the truck to verify gas was coming out of the fuel rail. But could it really be 0psi? I am sure I tightened the couplings down enough and none of the schrader valves are broken.

Make sure the fitting on your pressure gauge has the little feller in there that is supposed to press on the schrader valve..... mine fell out... and disappeared.

I'm honestly stumped because everything looks right. I even attached the dual manifold adapter and was able to blow into it while closing the other side hard enough to move the needle.
I didn't really want to overtighten the fitting on my fuel rail schrader valve but im sure it was snug. I used pliers to tighten it anyway.

Maybe the fuel rail pressure valve is on the return? But I didn't see another one so that shouldn't be the case? I only see one schrader valve on fuel rail anyway, driver side.
