what size tires can be used on a 92 Dakota
I have a really nice 92 Dakota that I purchased from my wife's uncle who owned it since new and kept it in the garage. I have all the stuff to swap to a 5 lug set up, axles and all, but I would like to know what size tire I can run and what offset wheel would be best. I have a pair of 245/60/15's on 8 inch rims with a 4.5 backspace on my rack and would like to get the same wheels with 265's or 275's for the rear. How about it?
Thanks, Rev Mopar

General rule of them is: +1, or +2 inches on overall diameter, and rim size is generally doable. (and that is OVERALL, not 'each') But, there is a lot of variability there simply due to age, spring sag, etc. Have a look, see how much clearance you have in various directions, take it from there.
Also, keep in mind, larger tires will have your speedometer underestimating your speed.
