Exhaust System Ideas

I know this is asked a lot on these forums but I kind of wanted personal input if that makes any sense.
I have a 92 SCLB, it’s a 4wd 5 speed with a 5.9 swapped in along with a 650 4 barrel. I currently have the stock exhaust layout, but with JBA shorties and a flowmaster super 40 or something along those lines.
I was curious what would be better for a mild build. 300hp/400tq at the crank being optimistic. A dual 2.5 inch setup with an h pipe or a single 3 inch all the way back? I’m looking to use a magnaflow straight through muffler but I also want to have a more mellow deep rumble rather than a screaming raspy machine (hence h pipe not x pipe). Running duals is difficult with these trucks as the tank rides the side of the frame rail so I’d be running them alongside each other and exiting in the same place if that makes any sense. (Think of newer Ford Powerstrokes with the “dual exit” tailpipes, but with 2 actual pipes not a y tailpipe.)
I figure the single straight through magnaflow will still be pretty loud (I’d imagine duals would be “quieter” with 2 mufflers vs 1) but I’m more experimenting with the tone and stuff.

Back in the day before I sold my '92 SCSB 4x2 auto I did some serious research on this very thing of true duals vs single out exhaust system. After doing the research on the performance gains from either system vs cost of same, it really wasn't worth the effort to even go to the trouble of putting on a set of 'shorty' headers. The '92/'93 5.2 Magnums had the better choice of exhaust manifolds from the factory. They even came with a stainless crossover from the factory. So that's what I went with. 3" all the way from the crossover to the exhaust tip. The muffler & cat were both 3" in & out either free flowing or super flow-I don't really remember the exact wording-from Walker. Sold the vehicle many years later with that set-up still going strong. It had a deep rumble no high pitched 'screech' or 'scream'.. My butt dyno was sure that I had found 2-3 hp & for sure a gain of 1-1.5 mpg...when I could keep my toenails out of the radiator.
