Engine troubles, rough Idle and Afterfire Clanking noise too. -- 93 Dakota 3.9L Man
As the Title says I have a 1993 Dodge Dakota 3.9L v6 with a manual transmission. Just bought the car a few days ago and have had a few problems.
The truck has run great so far except this started happening yesterday immediately after putting fuel into in it. Check the video linked below:
It is after firing like crazy and it was so bad it blew apart the muffler as seen on the pictures attached
Also where does this hose go and or do it is attached to the top.
I've redone the wiring harness power that was corroded leading to the car cranking but not starting once I had done that it drove great.
The belt was squealing something terrible so i replaced that aswell.
The previous owner said he put a new fuel pump in. Ill attach a picture showing the filter ABOVE ^^ though it looks like it could be replaced.
Any help would be greatly appreciated boys, thank you for your time.

I checked the wires and plugs and to my limited knowledge they do not look terrible.
I did not take apart the Distributor though.

I am back from my trip and some parts have arrived.
I have replaced :
Spark plugs, and wires
Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)
Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve
Ignition Coil
Distributor Cap and rotar
I will post pictures below of the distributor cap, and a new video of how it runs.
Overall it seems to idle much better but with a little gas it is after-firing terribly still.

I just got finished doing the timing chain and it was extremely loose,
it most likely jumped a tooth and was out of time. It was a pain in the *** job and I never did anything that intense but I got it torn down put back together
and it is now running well I would say I have to test it a little bit more But I would say problem solved for now : )

Wouldn't hurt to throw some new ones in there. Copper plugs only please, brand of your choice.
