PO443, purge control valve. I have the valve from the donor truck that I parted out. If I plug it in is it possible that the code won't pop up again?

Another glitch. Tach is pegged to about 5 o'clock, won't move, gas gauge not working. Fuses good.

Tach should get it's feed direct from the crank sensor.... I think. If the engine runs, the sensor is working, can you do a cluster test? (hold the trip/reset button, turn the ignition to on, let go when the test starts.)

The engine is running. I transferred the gauge cluster from the donor, maybe there are connectivity issues resulting from the donor truck sitting idle for quite some time. I'll try the cluster test tomorrow.

After running the engine for about 20 minutes to make sure the thermostat was opening the tach is working as normal, fuel gauge still not working. Engine ran erratically for about five minutes, hope that was just because the ECU was normalizing. After shutting the engine down for a few minutes, it does not like to start immediately, starts after about 20 seconds of cranking, idles roughly about 10-15 seconds then settles into normal idle. Any thoughts?

Hard start is generally a mixture issue. How is fuel pressure?

Fuel pressure is steady at 48 PSI engine running or not. Let it run for about an hour today. shut it off, restarted quickly but idled rough for a minute or so, smooth out. Coud it be that the ECU needs more running/driving time?

Will it drive?? If so, take it for a spin, (don't go far though) and see how it does.

Another glitch. After warming up the engine today and shut it down for about 5 minutes. Attempted to restart, cranked about 10 secs before starting, IAC valve was wide open causing high rough idle for about half a minute, IAC closed at that point and idle returned to normal. ?????

Is the throttle body nice and clean? Sounds like gummed up IAC motor.
