Looking for 3.9 LA performance parts, I would appreciate any advice or suggestions. Hoping someone has some old parts laying around that they would be willing to sell. I would like to convert my 89 over to use a Holley sniper. I know that the distributor and Intake manifold are barriers to this.

I think you are going to have a hard time finding parts for that..... There wasn't much aftermarket support for the six when they were actually still in production...... Now, they have been out of production for more than a decade..... Swapping in a V-8 would likely be easier..... and then doing the FI conversion to that.

 

Thank you so much for the reply! Everything you said is 200% correct, I know it makes more sense to swap in a V8 but I just bought a spare 3.9 to build and my father in law ownes a machine shop. I can experiment a bit and don't have to pay for any machine work. I did find this adapter which should work to switch over to a carb or the Holley sniper.

Just not a lot you can do to the six. Maybe see if there is a better cam available, bump compression a bit, do some work on the heads. Don't know if there are headers available either..... Basically, anything you can do to help it breath better, will get you more oomph.
