I can't even find matched injectors anywhere at RockAuto or Amazon, maybe they're elsewhere. In fact, it looks like getting any injectors for that truck is a bit on the narrow side. I'm thinking like you that if the truck is basically running good to just leave it. I'm curious, are remanufactured injectors any good? What exactly are they rebuilding in them?

That varies by whom is doing the rebuilding. Some folks will flow match them, others won't. If they do, it will be noted in the description.

I see some injectors on ebay, but, not sure what years they cover. Don't know how much they changed over the years either.

You're right, I saw many options for my '93, 5.2L on Ebay as well. Many remanufactured. And I've seen prices all over the map. Those cheapies scare the hell out of me. I don't know if the injectors are the same on the V6s but there are a whole lot of 5.2L engines still out there as it was used in a bunch of different models. You'd think there would still be lots of options. But again, how often did those injectors change over the years. I surely don't know.

You know with these old trucks, sourcing is every bit as big a discussion as the actual mechanics of how to repair them.

I have this link. I bought the injectors I put in years ago off the shelf here as it were. he provides a number and says he will help if you need to get more info or he doesn't have what you need. I'm still getting 14-15mpg's in town. hwy was 19mpg right after I did the plenum I drove a few hundred miles up and down the interstate.

Thanks 94. I'll bookmark it. At this time I'm going on the premise that my injectors are fine. The truck purrs like a kitten with the exception of some light knocking when going up a hill. I just started running some quality gasoline now plus I also just changed out plugs, wires, cap n rotor that were 19 years old so I want to see how it responds with new stuff in it. I have a steep hill in my neighborhood that I just went up and I heard no knocking. But then I usually don't because I gun it going up that hill. Only time it knocks is when I take my time going up a hill. Even then it's not a loud knock.

Glad it's running better this is what happened to mine and I panicked and did more harm before I slowed down and realised the issue...

Uh, yeah. That's not good. I think you mentioned you didn't get the rotor totally seated when you installed the new one. Someone said that, thought it was you. So I spent an extra 60 seconds on mine making sure that sucker was all the way seated (Guessing yours stopped at that keyway). At least it makes it obvious what the problem is. I like when something goes awry we can see the smoke and springs to make it obvious where to look.

If only it were that simple. I think it was the cap I did not get screwed down fully on one side. It never occurred to me to look at my new tune up until I had replaced the computer and cut the CAT off. Very humbling experience.
