When i went to go drive my truck this morning (It was still kind of dark.) I went to turn on my lights right after i started my truck and they didnt turn on. Only my parking lights. A little while later, i turned them on and they finally came on. Any ideas on why this happened?

My truck is a 90, I have to pull a little bar back to turn my lights on. Unless your talking about something in the wiring?!?

exactly, the switch is a bar that you pull back in mine also. the area where the bar disapers into can collect dust and dirt and eventually cause the switch to foul and not work properly.

you have to pull the dash bezel. its a bunch of allan or torx screws all around the trim. had to replace my whole switch assembly cuz one my prongs was burnt. ended up being the switch. when you get it off check your connectors for burnt connections.

just if it happens again, take care of it! here in california its a $140 ticket and 1 point on the driving record to drive at night w/o lights on. I found that out the hard way.

i have a 93 3.9 sport and i have had the same problem. first time it happend the switch burned out i could smell it in the cab. and sence then i have had to put a new one in about every 3 months. thank god for a lifetime waranty. The light still once and a while wount come on. so far it has worked for me to pull the switch in and out fast a couple of times and then wait about a min and they come on. also some times they flash right after start up and moving.
