1988 dodge dakota
Hi, I recently purchased a 1988 dodge dakota 3.9 ltr V6 5 speed, and I was wondering about the license plate lights. I got pulled over a couple of days after I got it and the cop told me that they didnt work...so I looked under there and found that they wasn't even hooked up. I got new bulbs for it, but I have no idea what wire its suppose to be connected to.
Any help would be great.

I don't quite understand the question too well.
Are you saying there is no voltage getting to the bulb socket, and you think an electrical connector is not connected? Look around the rear of the vehicle. I don't know about the '88, but on the '96 (yes, 8 years later) the connector for the license plate lights are located on the rear, passenger side of the truck.

Ok, there are several wires just hanging down that aren't connected to anything. I was just wondering if there was a certain color of wire I should be looking for to hook up to the bulb. I think at one time there was a trailer hitch on it, cause theres a connecter with 3 wires on it.
I think everything is connected right, I just need to know which color wire it is.
