how big of tires can I put on my stock 95 4x4 dakota?

 

32 11.50s 15 around a 4.5 in backspacing with a body lift and torsion bars turned up and there was slight rubbing on the inside front frame rail where the crossmeber goes across the front...this was on my 92 dakota 4X4. other than that you might beable to run 31 10 50 15s stock....it'd be close i'd amagine..

 

my 89 has 30x9.5's, there is enough room to go a little larger. when getting tires i had them put the larger size on one rim on the front that looked a little tighter than the otherside. it looked too close to me so i bought them a size down. have them fit a tire and see what it looks like. if your buying a set, they should do this for you

 

Also if you find that your tires are to close to the inner fender or wheel well, you can look on ebay or a have a shop cut you some spacers that will increase the gap, it will also make the truck look better

 

I've got a set of 31x10.50 Pro Comps on my 92 4x4, no lift or anything, its stock. They work great, dont rub or anything.

 

Does anyone know if the ground clearance of a 2wd is the same as a 4x4?
If it is I'll proabably go with the 31x10.50's too.

Ground clearance on the 4x4 and the 4x2 are not the same, theres about 2 inches difference, 31's won't work on a 2 wheel drive stock(without rubbing), but they will on a 4x4 stock.

 

Ya codydakota is right. The 2wd is shorter. When I had a 2wd I did have 31s on it but I installed 2in coil spacers and 2in body lift kit. There area fewposts about the largest tire you can fit.
