Thanks its only been down the quarter about 5 times all on the same day. It was its maiden voyage. I was having major traction issues crappy 60ft times of 2.6 or worse and the fastest of the day was 14.311 @ 97.520mph. Take in the fact its a 3.55 peg leg and on street tires and also the A500 trans doesn't hold up to well against the motor. Once I get done building the A904 with full manual valve body and 2800rpm stall and installing a locker and a set of Drag Radials. I'm hoping to shave approximately a full second of the ET

Yah was just thinkin ahead on how ill get traction, do those traction bars actually help at all? I plan on going with a posi, and probably somethin right around a 3.08 rear end ratio, without an overdrive i dont wanna be be pullin too high of a ratio.

3.08 seems a bit small. I'm gonna be runnin a 3.73 posi in mine. (thats what was in the 5th ave)

I'm not lookin to spend big money on my swap. I'm gonna try to do it for under $500. which since I already have most of the parts, I think I can do it. It's the all the small stuff that adds up[:@]

I'm thinkin about getting a 1st gen Dak to throw my rebuilt 360 in (was for powerwagon, but that's getting a built 440 now ) and had a few questions:

1. What rearend are you guys using?

2. Has anyone put a 5spd behind a 360 in a dak? I was thinking the NV3500 out of a a/2 ton 2wd ram would be the best bet. "

i happen to hate auto trannies, the only thing I'd ever use one in is a full on drag car. So, a 360 in a dak's gotta have a 5spd, cause its' just for fun.

Does anyone know if a 8.25 can handle bout 350ish lb feet of torque? Or am i going to have to cut down a 8.75?

I know it will bolt up to the tranny, and some people leave the V6 tranny in there. it all depends on how much power you will be making and what you will be using it for.

for a daily driver, it should hold up fine with a stock V8.

if your gonna be racing it at all or making some serious horsepower, then I would upgrade the transmission.
