Default My Turbo Build.

Been gathering parts for over a year so I finally started working on it. The last of the parts should be here this week. I figure I'll have around $2000-$2500 into this setup when done. It's going to be a remote mount setup with the turbo under the bed just like this Dakota.

So here some parts
44mm wastegate

MSD BTM, stole this for $40!

Air hat, couplers, digital FMU.
Holset H1C turbo with 21cm turbine housing.

Most of the parts.

Onto the build.

Up pipe for Turbo and wastegate.

Cold side mockup.

FMU mounted in the console.

BTM **** mounted in the cab.

More cold side work.

Hope to have it up and running within the next couple weeks. Shooting for 300hp at the wheels.

Well no tubing in the mail today.. I installed the boost gauge and mocked up the cold side once more. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have the tubing come and the cold side finished.

FedEx was really late today, my box from Summit came with my air filter, fuel pump, wideband gauge and various fittings. According to the tracking info my tubing was also supposed to be on the same truck and as of right now it still says it's on the truck for delivery So no cold side progress today..

So I installed the LC-1 wideband today.

nice. i'm going to be doing almost the same build this winter...the only problem for me is the placement of the turbo so snow and rain won't get at it if i need it during those times.

i noticed you have about 242k on the odometer, have you done an engine rebuild?

Snow/rain wont hurt the turbo, just gotta watch the intake.

I didn't rebuild it but according to the PO the engine should have 102k on it right now.

i was thinking the snow and rain might cause it to cool down faster than normal, form cracks and such...

Turbos are pretty tough, the snow and rain won't hurt 'em, the remote mount setups have really proven themselves.

Got the fuel system setup for the FMU tonight. Basically all that's left is to get the turbo hung, finish the cold side, mount the oil pump and wire it, and run the oil lines.
