The only thing I could think of was blocks right up at the front but they would have to be HUGE blocks and a very thick guage in order to take all of the stress. I dunno I'm gonna be messing around with the D tomorrow and maybe I'll se something I didn't see before.

temporary until i get the wincher bumper, there is no other place to put them, i put my d on a lift and spent close to 3 hours looking it over and mocking it up, nothing else works, just cant get to stuck :P

oh and that crossmember the same thickness steel as the frame, i also was able to get some sheet metal plates made and put them in behind the hooks in the crossmember, so hopefully that should help reduce the risk of damage

Not to resurrect an old post, but has anyone ever mounted a front hitch receiver on their D? I was at Costco today and saw a nice winch with a reese adapter and I thought to myself "that would be handy; put a hitch on the front, and use the winch on either end of my truck"

Any suggestions here would be appreciated, as I think this is the route I am going to go, unless otherwise told not to.

Hidden Hitch makes them. No drill install bolts up to existing holes (at least on my 02 Dak). Rated for a 9000 pound winch staight line pull.

I bought mine from 4weelparts and mounted them up with over 3/8 steel. I use a D bolt shackel the mounts into the reciver hitch, for the back.

I have 2 one on each side of the frame. on the sides of my push bar.
