Hi I have a 98 Durango who's gate won't open. The door locks and unlocks it just won't unlatch when I pull the handle. Can anyone advise me on what my problem is and how I'd start in repairing it. Do I need to somehow remove the interior panel? Any advice you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

 

Don't remove the panel, There is a round plug in the panel. reove the plug and put your finger on the latch assy. And be careful it is sharp on the latch assy.Wear gloves if you have them. The rod may have come off.

 

I just checked the panel and didn't see any round plug in it. Where is it located? Mine seems to be smooth except for the light. Thank you

 

Should be around the center of the panel.
