1) How's your fluid level?
2) When was the last time you changed your tranny fluid?
3) What kind of tranny fluid do you use?

No shifting at all? I'd say you have a bands issue in the trans that need adjusting (assuming no breakage). As asked by Mean Green, things can be fine but if you are not having regular service on the trans, it won't stay fine for ever.

thanks everyone so much for the input i just dont want to take it to a tranny shop if it is just a sensor or something i could change out myself and they can say i need a new tranny or something, well first of the fluid level is fine i used the recomened in the users manual and the fuid was changed last year ,also where would the governor switch be located and how can i tell if thats the problem and what might be the symtoms of it being bad?as for the speed sensor where would that be located and something as little as that can make it do this, and as for the band issues is that something that would have to be donne by a tranny shop and what would bw the symtoms of that?like i said i dont think the tranny is gone because i had no problems with it shifting or anything befor this it just happened all the sudden thank you all just want to get it fixed i miss my truck lol

Your bands can be adjusted along with a normal servicing. The speed sensor is on the rear axle and I have no clue on the governor switch's location.

yes there is a speed sensor on the rear axle, but there is also one on the transmission, it is on the drivers side, and should be the only thing with a wire on it accessible from underneath the truck, and that made mine shift better bc mine was shifting hard, and late before i replaced it, mayber it will help and good luck with it, let us know what the fix is
