Default Brush guard ?

Hey guys I found a smittybuilt brush guard (a lot like blackonblackonblack's) that came off of an 02' Dak and I'm pretty sure it would bolt right up but can't remember and I will have to drive an hour just to get a look at the thing and mock it up otherwise. I love me some craigslist $200 and he's holding it since I was the 1st caller. It's chrome so I would just have to powdercoat it black at some point (along with my rims).

Gotta love dodge. They tossed the Durango on to the Dakota chassis. Good Idear. I like em both.

Yup yup Good to know I know that there are some model years with the same body style that don't bolt right up that's why I asked. Gonna have me a brush guard in a few days when I have the dayoff. [sm=happy046.gif]

Well I have a smittybuilt bumper thumper, as it's called. Bolted right up to my lower bumper bolts, and then 2 brackets attached to holes by the rad support. is this close to the one your lookin at? I have yet to see another truck with one like it on it. and I love that it's more of a "rare" one.

Are there any brush guards that you can mount a winch to? I was just wondering, cause I was gonna put one on my '00 D, but I wasn't sure if it bolted to the frame or not. I have seen the really expensive ones ($900+) but I wanted to see if anyone knew of a brush guard that could be modified.

All beush guards I have seen are only cosmetic and will snap if you do anything like that. If you want to mount a winch your best bet would be an aftermarket bumper.

Thats what I figured. I was in the part store the other day and the gauge of the metal didn't seem like it could bear the weight of the truck with a winch pulling on it. It also looked like the connection was a little flimsy. Thanks for your opinion and answer to my question.

My Westin Safari Bar (as is the case with the Westin Bull Bar) has a set of mounts that go on and then the bar mounts to the mounts (if that makes sense.) Once the fasia is loose to put on the initial Westin mounts, the front bumper will drop a couple inches... unbeknownst to you... until after you get it all back together and step back to look it all over. THEN, it's losen it all up and tighten again. Watch for that, use a second person to hold up the front (or a jack with extra stuff under it to reach that high) and all will be good.

You've been warned. LOL

Good luck!
