Superchips is the only maker for 4.7 engines. I would recommend you to buy a programmer and not a chip as the OEM PCM can adjust for the changes by the chip and all settings will go back to normal. A programmer can reprogram the PCM and should stay permanent.

I learned the hard way. If you're going to keep modifying your truck, don't buy a programmer, wait till your done with the mods and send your PCM in to get re-flashed. You're going to spend $350-400 for a programmer that only gets you around 10hp and 15tq. You can buy some underdrive pulleys and a exhaust system that will get you alot more for the same price. But if you want a programmer that bad, I think superchips makes one for your truck.

Where can you buy the underdrive pulleys? I heard about them. Is it because they are much lighter weight that gives the motor more recovered power?I also heard if you get too light of a pulley, you the motor may experience idling smoothness issues.

There are severalcompaniesthat sell underdrive pulleys.

They are called underdrive pulleys because they underdrive your accessories such as the water pump, alternator, power steering, A/C, etc. This creates more power because there is less drag on the engine to run these accessories at full speed.

Don't buy a [sm=headbang.gif]jet chip! They have good underdrive pulleys, but I would buy a superchips programmerinstead ofbuying a chip.

how are jet chips?
For the Durango, it's useless.

Dodge engineers made our PCM (the computer) very Very VERY smart. It will start to adjust the changes made by the Jet chip right away. Over the course of the next 100 or so starts, it will have returned to the stock program by readjusting all the parameters the Jet chip changed. Then you'll have the Jet chip on there, making changes that the PCM will pass along to the sensors all changed back to stock. Thus... rendering the chip useless.

Not all PCMs are as smart as ours. That's why Jet is okay for some makes and brands but not our Ds. Why they keep selling to Durango owners is beyond me. Greed I guess.
