03' Dodge Durango Shocks?
Who makes the best Shocks for my 03' D? Don't go off road and I have a 4WD. I want much better then OEM shocks! Also I was wondering if anyone else has the problem when htting a bump on a turn on a highway at high speeds does the bump take your D to the right or left? And does anyone know anything about installing remote starts on there D? or any problems getting it to start from remote? [sm=type.gif]
Shocks, I would recommend the Monroe reflexes for the average daily driver that has a 4x4. Lifetime warranty and they provide you with a stiffer performance ride.
As far as the D moving side to side on bumps. I think it may be the suspension design of the D? One user mention of purchasing track bars to eliminate the sideways motion when hitting bumps.
My D goes sideways when I hit bumps but only when I am on the gas and plus, I am running AWD mode. But the simplest solution to prevent the sideways steer is when you hit the bump, just let go of the gas pedal, the D will smoothly go over just about any bumps and never go sideways.

Good enough as stock OEM equip on the SRT10 Ram, good enough for your (and my) Durango.

Have a 2002 SLT AWD and, I was curious about the same thing (13k over my60k mark). However, I need the best shocks (or whatever else) that will provide the smoothest ride. I have 3 baby girls in baby seats and, one gets car sick everytime I takeher out. I know its got to beall the jarringin the back. So, until I can get momma a van, I need to do something about the ride.
I've seen the Monroe Sensa-Trac's recommended for a smooth ride but, I have also seen others recommending other brands over the Sensa-Trac's. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Vox,
Go with the sensatrac's. It will give you the smoothest ride especially for a family hauler. Lifetime warranty and not expensive compared the to the reflexes or bilstiens.

Ya, I was looking at those or, the Edelbrock Performer IAS Shocks (3341 Front/3441 Rear). Like the ones you mentioned above, they're about double the cost of the sensatracs ($75 @ Pepboys, haven't looked at any online places).
Everyone is going to have a different opinion on what's the best kind of shocks for your durango. I have the Edelbrock IAS shocks. They have a lifetime warranty and I've never had a problem with them. I know several people that have the bilstein shocks and they also like them.

I want to hear more about what people are doing about installing track bars or panhard bars to keep control when you hit a bump in the turn. Lifting, while that may be a good idea, is not always good as I have sometimes seen that you can swerve the other direction or "snap back" suddenly. I would think that good shocks and the track/panhard barwould help a bunch.Has anyone done this and are they happywith the results?
Also, for those who want a smooth ride, you need to put some weight in the back compartment, a couple of tubes of sand will really help. The D loves to be loaded.

I hear upgrading the D's swaybar would help what do you think? I hear the factory swaybar is too thin and upgrading this will give you better control. I would like to hear other MODS that people have done to there D, besides lifting it I don't want it any higher then it already is.
