high idle
I have a 2000 Durango with about 69,000 miles on it and for the past few months I've been having issues with my idle. WheneverI put the car in park, the idle jumps up to 1000 rpm's instead of staying at the usual 600 rpm's. At times it would fluctuate and if I would rev the gas it would go back down to 600, now itwill no longer godown whenI rev the car.I know it's not the idle motor, that was just replaced and it's not due to any kind ofcarbon build up anywhere sinceI just had it all cleaned out. My point is that I work at a Dodge and Chrysler dealer and the guys here are having trouble figuring out what it could be. If anyone can give me any help or any possible solution, that would be awesome!!! Thanks!

RE: high idle
If the intake checks out good and you are not leaking oil. Try cleaning the IAC that is on the back of the throttle body and if that does not solve this, try replacing the Throttle position sensor located on the driver's side of the throttle body.
Would not hurt to inspect and change out the plugs, wires, cap and rotor if it is time to do it.
