What I do with my D full time now
It weighs around 2500 lbs. It performs ok to me but I want to get the next size bigger stump grinder that weighs 4400 lbs by itself.
I've already done:
coolant flush
180 stat
brakes bled
power steering fluid flushed
Edelbrock "pro flow" air filter (Round 14" intake like what muscle cars have)
Superchip programmer
Autolite 3923 plugs
Flowmaster 50 (got it installed today!)
I have a few more maintenance items that I want to do and then there are a few upgrades I want to do since I'll be towing with it more and towing more with it later. I want to do the tranny shift kit from Fastman and I want to put different gears in it. (I'm actually thinking about 4.56:1 gears)

I would say go with the 4.10's tops, those 4.56's are gonna kill you on your gas mileage and I'm guessing offroading isn't in the D's future since it's a 2wd.

But, I've just been reading on the Ram forum about the guy that swapped his Ram's gears to 4.56 and actually got BETTER gas mileage.
it depends how much city or highway driving you do. If you have 4.56 and you're doing city driving, i would completely expect your mileage to increase. But if you do more highway driving, i dont think you're gonna be working the D hard enough to need 4.56. I doubt it would be kicking in and out of O/D

Yeah if you were strictly cityI could see an improvement but highway would drop dramatically. I wouldn't mind some 4.56's but I wheel my D and I don't mind some mpg drop for better performance offroad.
