Projection headlights are great problem is that the ones that I have seen for the Dak/D look cosmetically horrible...

I love these in my truck. They were plug and play. I won't go back.

Hydra,

Where can you get the Ultra's?? I have the 1st gen silver stars and googled the ultra's vs standard silver stars and came back with mixed results. Since I have replaced my lens with the clear type, high beam lumination is non-existent. Low beam is somewhat more flooded than condensed when using the oem lens. I thought maybe a brighter bulb may cure this problem using the clear lens.

I searched the sites that sylvania has and none of them have the ultras, but they have the regulars.

Otherwise, I found another site that sells true high power wattage bulbs and plug and playupgraded wiring harness and sockets that I may switch over to to get much better lumination.

http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...lacementGuide/

Here is the web site. Put your info in and wala. Auto Zone currently sells them. These are plug and play to OEM. They are great and the best part is they are white light not blue so that the floods match and they look great. Plan on spenting 50 bones tho.

Thanks Hydra,

I will have to check with autozone again, Last time I went to their store, they did not have it in stock. Had to order it.

Has anyone made the switch from silverstar ST to the ultras and notice any brighter improvements?

I already forked out $60 bucks for these Silverstar ST's when they first came out! Now they are about half that price. I really loved these ST's. They are still working today after being in the truck for a few years.

I want to upgrade to the ultras but don't want to fork out the $50 bucks unless I know there is a big improvement to lumination over my ST's. Otherwise, I will opt and get me some real high power wattage bulbs with upgradedelectrical bulbsockets for the same price as the ultras.

I got the ultras and they are better than the crap I threw in there before but I would say they are only slightly better than stock.

MG,

If I understand you correctly, you are saying that the ultras were just slightly better than your stock lights????? I can vouch that my Silverstar ST's are way better than stock. The lumination and a really bright white color as opposed to stock.

If what you say that the ultras are slightly better than stock, that tells me that the Ultras aren't any brighter if not the same as the ST's??? Then I won't fork out the money if I do not any improvement on lumination. I'll just opt for these bad boy bulbs!!! Bulbs and harness will cost roughly the same as the ultras but I am sure these bulbs will be much brighter.

And they make a plug and play high power wiring harness and you do not have to cut off your OEM's in case you want to switch back for $25.95

Yeah I'm pretty sure that the ST's and the SSU's are damn near the same bulb. It's just another way to squeeze money out of people.
