(O/D button is on the shifter end and a light should indicate on dash) despite the info i can throw up a few possibilities and checks, first off the fluid. See how she looks (Some D's are required in N to check others Park) low/high/due for a change. Second, usually late shifts are due in part to a mis-adjusted throttle valve cable. A thing i mention to everyone, and highly recomend is a purchase of a repair manual for any vehicles they own. Its simple for me to suggest fixes but the repair manuals can detail the information aswell provide pictures.

I think it stays in gear till you let off or slow down enough and kind of uses the gear to slow a little as if it was towing something

Alright good deal. My last idea, that i was saving after the intial checks is the governor solenoid. Look it up around the web/forums and see if the symptoms are the same (BUT still check your TV cable and fluid. A new filter and trans fluid never hurt, just dont get it flushed and never use anything else cept ATF+4. ( And whenever you do a transfilter its always good to get the bands adjusted- Honestly i do everything myself except the transmission bands, i bring it somewhere)

Fixing is always quick and simple. Now diagnostics are 99% of the trouble. [sm=confused06.gif]
