Default intake supercharger

hey guys, I got a supercharger for my intake for x-mas and i was wondering if anyone has ever used one or even heard of them for that matter. It came with some instructions and it says to run the power from the battery to a switch and mount the switch somewhere so that it is only pushed when the pedal is floored. (either behind the pedal or behind the throttle body). Is there a reason for this or can I just forget the switch and make it run at all times?

thanks

Honestly? If im thinking correctly what you got for christmas was an electric fan, am i right? Dont use it, sell it to somebody. No use using something that doesnt help and could break apart causing debris into your intake.

+1

also I believe it says only activate under full throttle because it requires crazy amounts of amps to power it... leaving it on at all times will kill your battery... also the fan will only have one running speed, and over throttle your engine or cause an inability to idle

Ok a Super Charger is about a $4300 part. It is also ran of the belts of the motor. I don't think this is what you have rather a plug in small type that sits in the intake tube and don't work worth a crap. Not to mention if a piece breaks off it goes right into the motor. This is not the approch I want to go with. If this is what you got take it back and get your money back.

I didnt want to be a pain to anyone, but stay away from elect. superchargers. Completely useless and a waste of money.. Unless the system is $3,800. and can barely fit in your car. Dont get it. (then again you can still get way more outta your car/truck with $3,800. ) One of those electric supers out on the market for $300 plus couldnt pull as much cfm as my truck at an idle, that'd be like sticking the factory airbox on. But look on the bright side, now you can hook it up as a fan on those hot days inside the truck

I love the electric supercharges...Not by function, but by people trying to fraud consumers. I esp love the guarantees.

Performance Guarantee:
After purchasing and (properly) installing theXXXX on your engine, you do not feel that the performance increase is what we have claimed (4%-6% HP increase), you just need to do the following within 30 days of receiving yourXXXX to get a full refund*.. Take your car to a dyno test in your area. Make dyno runs with and without the XXXX activated, and take a picture of how it was installed. Mail theXXXX back to us with the picture, a copy of your receipt, and a clear copy of your dyno comparison results (signed as witnessed by the technician running the dyno). If the dyno shows theXXXXX does not increase horsepower in your engine by an average of at least 4% of its previous horsepower throughout the 3000 to 6000 rpm range, and we conclude from the picture that you have installed the unit correctly, we will give you a full refund* and even pay for 1/2 your dyno fee! (up to a maximum of $50 reimbursement) *Full refund does not include shipping charges *Please see "compatibility information" section below We challenge any other manufacturer of aftermarket bolt-on horsepower devices to make the same commitment! We know it works!

Thats a lawyers playground there.
And the topping for the cake-
At the time of your order, an agreement is made not to holdXXXXXXXX as a company or any of it's employees liable for any circumstance or costs that may arise from using any of these parts. All high performance parts are strictly sold AS IS

For a 4 to 6 percent gain, you can easily get that with cheaper tried and true mods like CAI's or PCM programmers,Bigger throttle bodies, cat back exhaust, etcfor just a few hundred bucks or less per upgrade..

some of those may show a gain when they are one because when they are turned OFF they actually create more of a restriction compared to a simple CAI they you are losing power.

Also remember that V8 engines suck alot of air, I did a research on the web and these little super electric fans are more tailored for 4 cyl applications. To really beef up a V8, someone mentioned it may take up to 4 e-superchargers to provide enough air mass for a V8 to get some good power gains. but we know that 4 high amp e-chargers will kill the electrical on a D!
