i have a 99 dodge durango with a 5.9 engine and i got a 94 dodge ram pickup 5.9 2500 engine my question is will i have trouble with the swap or emisions im planning on changing all the sensors from my old engine into the one i got from the salvage yard ,i really cant afford to run into any problems.

 

The engine is the same, you may need to switch your oil pan and manifold and dist.

 

the salvage yard called me today and told me they broke the 5.9 engine from the 94 and they pulled a 5.2 from a 99 durango its going into a 99 durango with a 5.9 im starting to think that imk going to run in trouble with this swap would i need to get the ecu for 5.2 engine or can i use mine from the 5 .9 with the 5.2 engine

 

Hello, may I ask why are you taking out your 5.9 and installing a 5.2?! What's wrong with your engine and where are you located?

 

my 5.9 is blowned rod knock so i had order a 5.9 but the salvage yard drop it while taking it out then they told 5.2 will work and now they got a 5.9 from a 97 dodge van .

 

I was going to say I'll sell you a 5.9 shortblock with brand new stock cam(not used) with only 4,000 miles on it and then you can just install your heads, intake,sensors, etc. from your original engine. It has 8,000 miles left on the warranty! I live in chesaning, Mi if your interested.
