99 Durango 5.2 4x4 did not want to shift above 3000 rpm

Use ATF + 4 not 3, 3 can give you lots of problems. I found out that after my rebuild AAMCO put ATF 3 in my D and it was causing a lot of sensors to go batty in there. No real clue as to why but whatever. You can just use the OEM tranny fluidf. It is already a synthetic. No clue on the specs for the band adjustment go get yourself a manual it should have those spec's in there.

ATF+3 is OEM on his truck. ATF+4 is fully synthetic and ATF+3 is regular. The 1998 and 1999 were ATF+3 and after that ATF+4 came out.
ATF+4 replaced ATF+3 but it does have some different properties so one should be aware. I really wonder if the shop put something else in there. That would make the trans act like that.

Stupid shifting problem
I rarely hit the passing gear in my 98 360 4x4. I punched it last week to engage passing power and it shifted erratically ever since. After changing fluid and filter I came to the conclusion it was out of adjustment. As a last final resort I sprayed wd40 and worked the cable and spring comming from the throttle and linking to the tranny. This fixed the problem, immediately shifting smooth again.
