Still, I'd go for a performance engine long block over OEM rebuild, but I like POWER!

no hauling, but i do put a lot of parts and crap in my truck. I don't need any power in my truck. there's no real reason.... I got a bike so my speed needs are satisfied. PLus i can't understand wanting to go fast in a 4500 lb beast.

Try 5000 lbs plus.
A little insight to not understanding going fast comes down to one thing, why not?

Do my eye's deceive me!

Is it real? Noooooooooooooooooooo!

You can never have enough power just a sufficed amount. Now even running my old 2001 Suzuki GSXR 750 rocket was fun but it was a different beast. My truck is my truck and my bike was my bike.

Have you seen the Longevity & Power Of Your Rig! link? There is some great infomation in there!

But theres power and performance and there is longevity and performance.

I wasn't saying get a bigger block, I was saying if you don't have time to rebuild your motor (which is the best) then buy a rebuild with some mods that you will not regret. Better fuel mileage, longevity, and power!

A bigger block won't bolt up to the trans. Not to mention larger block would need retro fitting.

Default Which reluctor?

I have a 2002 Ram 4x4 QC with vin code "N". A rear main bearing has spun on my motor. I am torn about whether to replace the motor or sell outright. I ran an ad and someone with a wrecked 2003 single cab truck and good motor wants to buy it. I want him to have the right information about the reluctor. I would not want him to put his motor in only to not have it start.

Thanks, Another Victim

Default 16 0r 32 solved

So, after beating up everyone I know, here is how you know. If there is a sensor on the back of the driver side of the engine. Look to see if you have a sensor between the last two cinders..., if you do, then its 16. If you dont, then its the 32. Now you know what engine you have.

this thread was from 2009, 8 years old, is there a legitimate reason you revived it?

also the easiest way to tell in the durangos for 2002 MY is to count the plugs on the PCM, 4 plugs is 32 tooth (ngc) 3 plugs and a separate TCM is the older PCM

By the way, this is a 4.7L right?

i have an 03 4.7 and the ring is 32 teeth. I see a lot of people saying 99-03 is 16 but that’s not the case with mine
