That set up is what I was looking at in the 2002 service manual and it appears as a match?

I know this is veering off topic, but I ask because my rear wiper has never worked, so when I heard about this "hidden" fuse panel I immediately started wondering if I just hadn't yet checked the right fuse... Lack of the rear wiper has never bothered me much, so I haven't made it a priority to troubleshoot it, but if it turns out to just be a fuse I didn't know about, then might as well have it working....

Wife has the D at work right now, so I can't go out and look for the panel to see what's in there.
On page 8W - 53 - 5 of the 1998 Service manual it states it is powered by fuse #7 - 15 Amp, Rear Wiper Switch, Pump Motor, and Defrost on the same lead. Look at my photo. I would first go there and ensure the fuse. Next I would pull the rear wiper switch and check for power in and out, page 8W - 80 - 48 of the pin outs (top) shows the inputs and outs for the switch you can check. Right above it is the rear wiper pin out.

Remember this should only be the the 1998-1999's!

Can someone take a picture of their "Hidden Junction Box" - "Hidden fuse Box"?

For the non believers, here is a 2000 harness I removed from a 2000 when I did my dash swap. There are 4 fuses back there. I kept my finger on the yellow fuse covers on the airbag fuses to show the position of the fuse box.

I'll gladly go out and photograph my '99 and look in my '01 and see if I can see the same.

Here is my '99's.. Has two fuses back there. I'm sure the '98's are similar to the 99-00. Your guess is as good as mine as to what they control.

My '01 had no fuses back there. Safe to assume they deleted this hidden fuse panel on the 01+ trucks.

Thank you for providing those AWESOME pic's! The first ones I have ever seen!!!!!

I'm going to have to copy those pic's!

Anyway, we know they are there, I mean me are not saying it's not because members have found it. We are mainly getting to a head of what years, what builds have this hidden panel?

I'm sure all 98-00's have them, just depends what options they have whether or not they are filled.. They also have relays back there.

Like I said, my '99 SLT has only two fuses and a relay or two back there. The four fuse harness came from a '00 SLT+ with the 4.7.

My 1998 didn't have it.

I think again it depends on the package (options) it contains from the factory.

Okay so i am finally able to work on my durango(been deployed, been to airborne school and lots of other unmentionable army stuff so now i finally have the time to do this), (I do have the extra panel of fuses and relays but does anyone have a guess as to what it controls and or does).

I'm gonna disconnect everything on that circiut in the morning so that i can test it one component at a time. I'll let you know what my progress is by Noon central time

[QUOTE=logikfive;2375774]You gotta get on your back and look up under the dash at the backside of the fuse box.. For some reason they decided it would be a good idea to hide some fuses and stuff back there.[/QUOT

You are an absolute genius. I read the service manual and researched online. You were the only one with the correct information. There is another fuse box behind the one under the dash with a 20 amp fuse for the power outlet. Thanks again, I never would have found that.
