Exclamation Tranny Problems that a friend is having.

A friend of mine is having problems with his tranny. He says it has been rolled on accident once. and after that the tranny doesn't want to move/ roll forward until it gets to 2,000 RPM. anyone have any suggestions. he will be reading then eventually registered after positive results

It sounds like a torque converter issue.

Yeah I was hopping it was a solenoid issue. but I will send him to a great mechanic to see how much it will cost him

Was the fluid ck'ed? And is the ck engine lite on? And does the trans have reverse or forward gears. In most cases the torque converter will cause the engine to stall when you put the shifter into drive and your foot is on the brake. You may want to ck line pressure to see if you lost pump pressure. Line pressure should be 120psi and 220psi in reverse.

Also maybe a inline check valve stuck.

Also what about a logged filter in the intake. Has he opened up the pan yet?

Your friend is welcome here. Everyone has an opinion and this place makes a great place to throw it out not to mention all the experts.
