+2 Srch...I would say if the T47 torx doesnt work try the one lower or upper. It may be allen too. If you got it used, then it is possible the previous owner might have changed these bolts before and had a different torx head. I would tend to think that the entire line of Durangos had the same torx heads for all years.

Don't forget the grease for the slide pins/bushings. A/Z should sell this grease in small about 1/2 oz packets near the checkout counter or even by the computer terminals where you look up pds/rotor inventory. That packet should be enough for both slide pins on both front wheels. If you are more liberal with the grease then get two packets. If you have multiple automobiles or like to help friends and family then they sell bigger containers.

There should be a small channel on the bolt, that little groove is so you can slide the dust boot in that groove. Not really a secret to that, just lightly stretch the boot into the groove.

Verify with the service manual but 30 ft lbs sounds about right. I really think 1/2 inch drive wrench is overkill.....3/8ths should do it.

i replaced both calipers so now both calipers use the same bolt type... used to be one side was torx and the other had to use allen wrenches... talk about irritating... lol

[quote=shrpshtr325;1550816]i have not seen any of these trucks with 4 wheel disc breaks, at least not in our gen of them, maybe they do exist since i know the daks did come with them for a couple years, but all the ones i have seen have drums in the rear

Hey sharps, yea, I got discs all round on mine 2003 SLT Plus 5.9

Yea I know 4 wheel disc brakes was an option for the 2003 model year only IIRC. I also think it was included on the R/T models but don't quote me on it. I know I prefer my drums in the back... Less to worry about IMHO.

i think my front brakes are on w/ a 7 or 8mm hex head (allen key), i have never seen them held on w/ a torx
