Was it up and down? Front to back? In and out? Some will have a little bit of play... I don't think 1mm is anything bad...

Can you tell if it is the inner or outer joint causing the play?

Usually cv's fail after the boots rip and dirt gets into them. If it's a part time system for 4x4 =next rainy day engage the 4x4 system have a friend outside the vehicle in a parkin lot and make some turns around them=if they hear any clinking then replace the joint,if not and the boot is intacted it's probably ok.the awd trucks you can test anytime in 4h unlocked.Hope this helps.

I wouldn't worry about it.

If it starts to then then do it. It's very easy to replace.

Make sure you install good ball joints on the lowers.

Also make sure if your rod ends have indents they match up to the wheels so they don't rub on the rims.

Hello all,
I have my driver side, inside CV boot torn. I was reading this post and there was some talk about it but no direction.
Is there a thread already on this? if so i couldn't find it.
If not can someone guide me to what i need to do to replace it or if I'm better off taking it in? Thanks in advance.
