I did the Kensai air ram on my 99 5.2 today=pulled the filter box, took the elbow that intakes air from the fender off, took a 18" piece of the stiff but bendable clothes dryer exhaust hose, and cut a flap in the rubber guard in the front=reattached the filterbox and ran the hose through the round cutout....perfecto mundo>and took flat balck paint to the openig and around the hose opening in the front so dumb-ss won't notice it and stick cr-p in there to screw with the truck>cost of basic ram air=about 15-20 bucks for the dryer vent hose,I tried to upload some pics but their too big to post=I'll try to put em on my profile instead.

Dragon,

I cannot really give ya a great comment on your work as the details of the pic is very poor. But I commend you for making the conversion! Now go retake the pictures during the day to show off your details. What I like to see is how you were able to get around the Freon line that got in my way. In my pics, I had to cut a slot in the straight tube so the freon line actually goes thru the tube setup. I see you were able to get around it. I wonder if it is because your rig is a 5.2? so the freon plumbing is slightly different from a 5.9 rig?

DoM,

I run a duct to my CAI from the passengers side also. Mine is a little cleaner and a smaller pipe, but yours probably flows more. I know exactly what and why you have it and agree.

Gentle tweak to the freon line and the dryer exhaust hose fits right into the box snugly..
I cut a hinged flap in the rubber piece that directs the air toward the radiator so I can reglue the flap back in if the inspection tards have a problem with it....those pics were takin at nite= no light except the i.r. illumintor on the cam corder...I'm gettin about 18 mpg highway and about 14 in city, response feels better too..still gotta get a k&n cotton filter though and maybe a vornado if I can find one for that airhat style...

I dumped my flap. No inspections in Indiana.

I take it your talking about a Tornado and they don't work for MPI motors like ours. Just get the K&N drop in filter for your OEM air box and let the sounds and power begin!
