i just bought a k&n intake for my 4.7 liter durango, when i took off the factory intake there is a small rubber line that goes into the filter along with the large intake hose. the k&n filter doesnt have a spot for the small line to plug into. is it ok to just leave that small line uncovered?
John, post us back if you see any gas mileage improvement with air system=I was lookin to just replace the kilter with a k&n and I'm wondering if the entire system is worth the price oe just replacing the filter and keeping the old box is more cost effective. Ty

I take it the line comes directly from the valve cover. If so make sure to put a filter as Neo had suggested.
i have seen an improvement in gas mileage over the last couple tanks, but idk if its fair to say the intake is responsible because i just changed my spark plugs as well, but between that and the intake, i went from 16-17 on the highway to 19-21

Pretty much most performance addons are also better for fuel mpg as long as your gentle on the foot. Although not huge improvements on mpg, it does help a lil (pretty much same with exhaust)
