ANYWAY... I do clearly have a cable problem with my starting system, but its the cable, apparently, that nobody carries. My ground from battery and fuse block, out into the system. Yes its corroded, yes the insulation is cracked and chipping off. No I cant find one listed for sale anywhere. Any ideas other than strip the whole harness down and measure the cables to make my own?

Btw this is on my 2000 Durango 4x4 5.7L - everybody sells, just the positive cable.
Going out on a limb but have you checked places like Pick N Pull to see if you can find a viable one off a donor vehicle? Might be worth a shot...the local yard here in Northern Nevada (and I think all Pick N Pull yards) are having a 40% off sale on all parts you pull if you are a rewards club member...worth looking into.

Thats the hard part. It comes off the fuse block then gets wrapped inside shielding with other wires. I guess my best bet it to strip everything off and see where it runs, then i can see its fittings and possibly just get a generic one the same length.

There is a slim possibility but I live over an hour from the nearest junkyards. This vehicle has been very well cared for over the years but this problem was one of the reasons they decided to sell it to me.

If it's just a ground cable, find both ends, see how long it needs to be, then replace it. Leave the existing cable in place. Save yourself the headache of trying to dig it out of the harness.

One thing about today's cell phones, they all have cameras. Take a picture of the cable at the fuse block and let's all get our heads together (OW!! ) and see what we can figure out. What looks bad to you may be something simple one of us might have seen before. If there's anybody here simple, it's me.

I just went to lowes and got 4/0AWG wire cut to my desire. Added connectors and Bam new battery cables that's an actual upgrade
