2002 4.7 2wd Durango stalling out
#11
just driving along.... engine turns off..... sometimes wont restart..... if it does restart p0068 is present, and it wont hold an idle for crap..... next day, it will be fine like nothing ever happened, fine for a week of city driving, then take a trip, bam... does it again, stalls out while driving, no warning no nothing, turns off, wont restart

get a compression test done on all cylinders it should be in the neighbourhood of 120psi. i just re-read your post and the correlation code could be caused by vaccum leaks. engine mechanicle problems and a plugged/restricted exhaust, get to the basics as for the stalling have you replaced the iac? but from what you descride it doesnt sound like thats your problem......... only if it was stalling when you came to a stop........... next time it stalls when you try to restart the durango and it keeps cranking press the gas peddle straight to the floor and hold it there till it starts...... if this helps i would replace the idle air control valve, but the correlation code is a good one..... and you say that the map sensor was replaced correct? how about the o-ring that seals it? faulty wiring at the map sensor connector? if i were you i would make sure that o-ring is there and its not craked or damaged something as simple as a broken o-ring can cause a world of problems!!!! also the plug in at the tps sensor, make sure its not loose move the throttle open and closed make sure it closes by itself smoothly

the map sensor was the only thing i didnt do myself, the tps i did and all was good.... the dealership as a last resort did the map sensor.....
car is actually with my wife, im not where she is at....
i and a dodge mechanic looked over the vacumm lines, found no obvious issues... supposedly it was done as well in their diagnostic where they found nothing, other than replace everything related to the correlation code....
sometimes it would die @ a stop, liek after a freeway crusie.... come to the offroamp, stop, and it would not want to idle for beens, sometimes would stall out... then pop a crankshaft intermittent or the correlation code
i have not yet tried spraying starting fluid in the engine bay while running to see if that changes the idle.... i will be using a sprayer that will atomize the mist spray
i do have msn, but am about to head to pepboys right now for a battery on my sisters car

First off I hate the dealer...... Second off they're idiots...... Third off it makes perfect sense.

hydrashocker, i am not trying to discredit what you said, jsut merely stating what i have done. -- you said the ctm can be reflashed? what about just replacing it? i don't want to spend the $ but it needs to get fixed.... just don't want to spend the $ to have the dealership flash it, if that $ can be put towards a new ctm.....
trying to arm myself with everything i can before my wife throws any more $ at her truck.... no matter that i am trying to help her out and save her $, it's my fault she is wasting $ on stuff that doesn't fix it..... it's my fault... although it isn't... i know she is just pissed @ this point though, but still....
i replaced the crank position sensor and the code came back, again

hydrashocker, is the ctm a part i can remove, and take to the dealership lose? or does it need to go connected and in the car? what about replacement? if i were to replace it, try to find new? or would that be through a place liek all computer resources, or other?
